ICE Futures Europe Achieves Daily Volume and Open Interest Records in UK NBP Natural Gas Futures
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Intercontinental Exchange, the leading global network of exchanges and
clearing houses, today announced that the ICE Futures Europe NBP
Natural Gas futures contract achieved a daily volume record of
146,780 contracts (equivalent to 4.47 billion therms) on March 18, 2015.
The previous record of 137,495 contracts was set on February 10, 2015.
The ICE NBP Natural Gas futures contract is the leading on-exchange
benchmark for European natural gas, with the contract seeing an increase
in liquidity and open interest in recent years. Year to date, average
daily volume is 64,148 contracts, up 54% on 2014; and open interest
currently stands at a record 377,652 contracts as of March 18, 2015.
At ICE Futures Europe, market participants can trade NBP futures and
options contracts alongside ICE Endex’s natural gas portfolio on the ICE
platform. Contracts listed at ICE Endex include Dutch
TTF futures and options contracts, as well as Belgian
ZTP futures, German
NCG futures and GASPOOL
futures.
