Chuck Vice is Vice Chairman of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE). He previously served as Chief Operating Officer beginning in July 2001 and additionally President beginning in October 2005.


From ICE’s inception, Vice led the global technology, information security and operations efforts as well as ICE’s global futures and OTC trading businesses. For over 25 years, he has been a leader in the application of information technology in the energy and financial services industries. Prior to the founding of ICE in 2000, Vice was a Director at Continental Power Exchange (CPEX), an electronic market for trading electric power. Before joining the CPEX startup in 1994, he was a Principal at Energy Management Associates, where he provided consulting services to the electric power and natural gas industries.


Vice earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and remains a Distinguished Fellow. He also received an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
